This wedding took place a week before the last Covid-restrictions ended. It was a strange experience being in a room with so many people after two years of isolation and social distancing. But also a beautiful one: meeting new people, having great conversations, and celebrating love with only minor adjustments.

My day started with the bride in a hotel room. Mere minutes after I arrived, her sister swooped me away to create photos of the details. We found a corner in the corridor with beautiful light. Not pictured: the laundry carts we moved out of the way and the construction work outside the window. Wedding photography is not always as glamorous as we try to make you believe.

Capturing the getting ready moments is my favourite way to start the day. You're too busy to notice me, and by the time things start to slow down a bit, you're already used to the camera. For this reason, I would always recommend getting ready close to each other. For this wedding that wasn't an option, so before the first look, I took a couple of minutes to capture the groom in his beautiful suit in the hotel parking lot.

The rest of the day - as with so many weddings - passed in the blink of an eye: city hall, group portraits, five minutes to take some wedding portraits before rushing off to church, then a reception and a delicious three-course dinner interspersed by beautiful personal speeches from friends and family. Days like these make me love my job as a photographer.

My Style & Approach

Now Booking for 2023 & 2024

If I had to describe my style of photography with one word, it would be 'documentary'. Why? Because my approach is very hands-off. Sure, I'll guide you through the process of creating those beautiful photos, but you are in charge. You decide what we're going to do and how, and I'll be there to document everything from the big moments to the tiny details.

When is the right time to get in touch? Well, that depends. If you have a date and are determined to work with me, as soon as possible. Also, when there's travelling involved, the sooner the better. But if your plans are more flexible and close to where I live, you could decide to get married within a month and I'll be there to capture it. So it's up to you.
